Tracker’s Ride Epic game has picked up two awards at this year’s Bookmarks - the most prestigious digital awards in SA. Silver awards in the ‘Best Microsite’ and ‘Best Games and Gamification’ categories - crown what was a successful campaign during last year’s Absa Cape Epic cycle race.  This was the only work to win an award in the Games category.

For the first time, the world’s toughest mountain bike race could be experienced virtually (link to game) through an 8-bit representation where players advanced through the course alongside the live 8-day event, swapping smoothly shaven legs for deft keyboard skills.

In order to maximise engagement digital agency, Injozi, painstakingly depicted key landmarks and planted prizes and boosts, concocted obstacles and pitfalls, all with the aim of maintaining the health of the player’s bike. Completing the stage in the fastest possible time saw players advance up the leaderboard.

“Last year’s winner played the game a whopping xx times,” says Tracker’s Mark Smith. “Building on this success we are about to unveil the 2015 edition of the Ride Epic, with a new and improved user interface, even easier playing functionality and a richer design. Even our 25K prize is being beefed up to XX this year.”

The 2015 Ride Epic will launch on XXth March. For more information check out
